Dakshinavarti (Ma Lakshmi) Shankh:
Conch or Shankh is very sacred in Indian religion. It has its great importance and value in Vastushastra. These shankhs come from deep seas and are very rare.
Dakshnavarti Shankh is a symbol of Ma Lakshmy, Goddess Lakshmi. These are also
known as Ma lakshmi shankh or Goddess Lakshmi or Valampuri shanks.
Qualities:
The sacred Shankh that opens towards right hand side is called
Dakshnavarti Shankh or Conch. These Shankhs are very rare.
It has long neck and having
brown lines.
These lines runs towards right
or South.
It should have 3 to 5 ridges.
The size of the Shankh differs.
Can be as small as wheat grain and as
large as coconut.
Deities associated with Dakshnavarti Shankh (Ma Lakshmi Shankh):
The Shankh or Conch is associated
with many Hindu Gods and Godesses:
Vishnu holds four attributes in
hand. It is one of them.
Brahma on the seat.
Ma Lakshmi holds it in one
hand.
Surya ISun) in the middle.
Chander (Moon) at the tip.
At the back of the Shankh
(Conch) is Prahaoatu.
The hair whorls on Budha’s head
spriral to the right, the same swirl on the conch.

Brings happiness, peace and
prosperity.
Enlightens students with
knowledge and memory.
Keep in religious places in
house, brings Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Lakshmi in house.
